What is the therapy for Selective Mutism?
- Therapists work within the child’s home, school and community settings versus the more common approach of an office setting providing verbal consults to parents
- Therapists gently reduce the child’s anxiety while increasing their ability to speak
- Therapists use non-invasive play and social interactions, while staying in environments the child is most comfortable in.

Toilet Training
QDS has approximately 95% success with toilet training, to include children with extreme challenges.

- Children who are older toddlers who have met with little success with other programs or strategies
- Typical children who need to be toilet trained in preparation for a pre-school/school setting
- Typical children whose parents would like to use a professional to avoid child/parent struggles and/or due to hectic family lifestyles
What is the toilet training approach?
- QDS experienced trainers work directly with the child for approximately 4-20 hours to ensure success
- Parents observe, learn theory and application to continue the successful strategies for follow-up
- Gentle and often fun approaches are used, with persistency until success is achieved
What do we get?
An initial questionnaire to estimate success probability
- 1-3 days of direct service with follow-up phone calls and visits as deemed necessary
- Consultation and possible visits into the school setting to ensure generalization of skills and strategies
- Parent Training – both theoretical and applied
- Pre-determined goal for success
